Yelling At Fish
We took the baby to the vet.
Well, it was the cat who had the appointment but Mike and Su are staying over and we thought we'd take Sej off their hands for a while. We didn't know until afterwards that this was the first time he'd gone anywhere without his parents.
He's cutting his first tooth, which means he has a good yell every so often,
The clinic is housed in a big pet shop. I walked round with Sej while Ailz saw to Marlowe. Sej showed a passing interest in the fish; then yelled. He showed next to no interest in the hamsters and the yelling started almost at once. The shop staff and the staff at the vet's- all women- were very sympathetic. I think he brightened their day.
One of the vets who came over to chat turned out to be a Kentuckian. We always seem to be meeting Kentuckians. It's like it's fated. (Sej is one quarter Kentuckian). Ailz asked her if she missed the States and she said she was going home to be with her nieces and nephews at Halloween but she wouldn't want to return for good, "Because they're all mad over there..."
