Matters Arising
The clocks went forward an hour- so I found myself getting up earlier than usual this morning though the clock said it was later. Bah. Why do we keep doing this?
All that riding about in taxis and trains was tiring. I assume it'll eventually become routine, but for the moment it's stimulating...
I thought I was being clever referencing Elijah Mohammed in last night's post, but it turns out I'd placed him in the wrong gang. And misspelt his name. It should be Muhammad.
There's a Meeting for Business this morning- and I get to say my piece about redecorating the Meeting House. Talking it over with various friends ahead of time, it seems the issue is divisive. I want vibrant colours and some of them would prefer to stick with beige or magnolia or whatever the current colour is, dreariness being next to godliness- though they don't put it in quite those terms. If there's one thing about the Quaker tradition I can't be doing with it's the puritanism. What nobody can dispute, though, is that the paintwork is damaged and makes a bad impression- downright shabby, in fact. Someone in the not so distant past stuck posters on the walls with sticky tape and when the posters came down they took strips of paintwork with them...
