Wino

I've been drinking wine all my adult life.

I've drunk great wine and bad wine, I've drunk it vintage and sour- and I've enjoyed it all.

I've never found out what it means for a wine to be "corked" or why it's considered to be so terrible.

I read the labels- and enjoy the poetry of them (hints of violets, etc, etc) then make a snorting noise through my nose.

This probably comes across as inverted snobbery. Well, I suppose it is.

I'm a proper snob about many things- art and literature for instance-, churchmanship, movies- only not about wine.

I just like the taste.

Which is why I'm currently buying the very cheapest stuff from the Co-op.

£6.00 a bottle (give or take the odd 25p)

Plus it's Fairtrade.
