The Sea, The Sea
Most days, usually in the afternoon, I make my way down to the beach. I like to watch the waves- just that- wave after wave, wave after wave- and think how the sea must be the oldest entity on the planet, always changing, always the same. I initially wrote "thing on the planet" but that would be to deny the sea its consciousness- and everything is conscious. Wave after wave, wave after wave; you think it's a dead thing that's doing that? Think again. Or rather, don't think. Observe. Listen. Feel....
I like to imagine the water full of plesiosaurs. I've been fascinated by plesiosaurs since I was a child. There were times I didn't want to go paddling in case one should rear up and grab me.
