Thoughts That Do Often Lie Too Deep For Tears
A crow lifts the peanut container off its hook and spreads the contents over the lawn. At least, I think that's what happens because I've never seen it done- only the aftermath. This morning when I looked out the window the squirrels had moved in- and the crow was making little runs at them to make them back off so it could make a grab at the food - and the squirrels were making little runs at the crow to make it back off- and between them the peanuts were disappearing fast.
They were so absorbed in their reiving that they didn't think to glance up and see me at the window. Only suppose I'd had a gun...
Ilove hate guns. I want one, think gun ownership should be banned.
Talking about human destructiveness, Matthew drove his unimog into the fields yesterday to pick up some of the logs he'd left to season over the winter. This morning I followed in its wide scrunching tracks- and was dismayed to find he'd actually driven the bloody thing right through the bluebell patch. Philistine! Vandal! It was some comfort to see he'd also taken it through an ultra boggy patch and -from the churned up state of the earth- had come close to getting it stuck. If this gave him a nasty moment or two it will have served him right!
