When Matthew installed a new fence between the top field and the bottom field he put the remains of the old fence- in the form of rolls of chicken wire with wooden stakes attached- on the burn site. Earlier this year- after several bonfires- I moved the remaining wire to the field edge to reinforce the fences and hedges there. Some of it is rusty and degraded but most of it is still serviceable. Yesterday I was out there cutting off strips to ball up and bung into the holes that the rodents have been using to access the kitchen cupboard.
