Collared doves are messy eaters. They perch on the edge of the feeder and peck away like steam hammers and the debris flies everywhere- to the obvious benefit of hippity-hoppity ground feeders like chaffinches.
While wood pigeons (since we live on the edge of woodland there are many hereabouts) sit on top of our pergola and wait for the feeders to levitate.........
