I love the South Downs.
It wasn't as blowy as it looks. Those trees have been fixed like that by decades of wind.

My hubby is a Brighton boy and threatens to retire to Sussex. I said, as long as it's not Brighton, but this bit, I would be happy with that. Did you have lunch at The Ram at Firle?

Yes, we did.
They were doing a roaring trade in spite of it's being a weekday in January.
London is basically London by the sea, but there are many quieter bits. We may well retire to Sussex when the time comes.
