The Telegraph's front page carries a big black and white portrait of the Queen. She's 88 today. The caption reads "Happy and Glorious".
Kirstie, my mother's carer, enthuses over the picture- which turns out to be by David Bailey. Bailey says the Queen has kind eyes. I say nothing.
